There are different ways young people can get involved with YDAS. Some of these opportunities (which are talked about a little more below and on other sections of the site) are just available to young people with disabilities and others are open to all young people who may want to join us in working towards positive change for young people with disabilities in Victoria.

Volunteering at YDAS

Firstly, you may want to volunteer with us – most likely assisting with one of the projects or tasks that have been identified by our steering committee. For more information about the projects that YDAS is working on (as well as some of our previous work) please check out the projects section of this site.

The opportunity to volunteer at YDAS is open to young people with and without disabilities who have a particular passion for advocacy and working towards positive change for young people with disabilities. Although we are particularly keen to hear from young people with disabilities who would like to join us in a voluntary capacity. If you are interested becoming involved with YDAS or would like to find out more information please contact George the YDAS Coordinator on 9267 3755 or email gtaleporos@yacvic.org.au.

YDAS advocacy training for people with a disability

If you are a young person between the ages of 12 and 25 who would like to learn to speak up for yourself and become a better ‘self advocate’ you might like to consider taking part in the self advocacy training that YDAS holds each year. For more information about this, please check out our self advocacy training.
