Casting Call: Young People With Disability
YDAS is currently looking for young people with disability to feature in a video series about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
If you’re a young person between 12 – 25 who has a disability and you live, work or study in Victoria and would like to feature in a video series that discusses young people and the NDIS then let us know!
The purpose of the video series is to help young people with disability learn about and make the most of the NDIS. YDAS has received funding from the Victorian Government to support young people as they join the NDIS. There’s some information already available about the NDIS, but we will create unique resources that are interesting and relevant to young people.
The video series will be professionally produced and will feature young people talking about what they know about the NDIS. You don’t need to be an expert on the NDIS to be a part of the project, but a basic understanding of the NDIS would be helpful.
You might be asked to talk about what you think the NDIS is and how it could support you, but you don’t have to answer any questions you’re unsure of.
We’d love to feature a diverse range of young people who have varying levels of experience with the NDIS. Some of the people featured in the videos will already be NDIS participants, while others will have limited experience with the NDIS.
All young people featured in the video series will be reimbursed for their time with a gift voucher of between $30 – $60 depending on their time spent filming (1.5 to 2.5 hours).
Filming will take place on Monday 10 April at the YDAS office – Level 3, 180 Flinders St, Melbourne CBD.
This is a great opportunity to be involved in a project that will help many young Victorians with disability as they join the NDIS. It’s also a chance to meet some great new people, enjoy some free food and gain experience in the disability sector.
There will be male and female support workers available. Assistance with transport and Auslan interpreters can be provided.
Young people with intellectual disability are encouraged to participate in the video series.
You do not need to have any acting experience to be featured in the videos.
If you’d like to be a part of the video series, please contact Leah at email@example.com or phone on (03) 9267 3709.
